ATX area caps replaced. Thermal paste replaced. DVD drive needs a new belt. Now Xbox powers on but there's no image nor sound. LED flashes between green and red. |

Changed DVD belt, clock cap and 1500uF6.2V cap that was behind Nvidia socket. Now it does boot, although won't read music CDs (don't have PAL games to test). |

Applied lithium grease and cleaned the lens with IPA, but still won't read music CDs. It makes weird carriage and spinning sounds so best approach would be to replace it. Will mark it as repaired since it's for a present and he doesn't mind that. |
